Picked-up a 2012 Perth Mint coin.

While mailing my PCGS submission this morning, I noticed that the Post Office had one of the Perth Mint high relief 1oz dragons for sale. The design really appealed to me and I ended-up buying it. Neat little fat coin.

Forgot to mention that i'm going to crack it out of its capsule and put it in an old yellow coin envelope for a few years image Curious to see what kind of toning high relief cameos acquire.

  • That is so cool, Do they consider that a pedifort?

    Nice Fatty!!
    I really like the design.image
  • Im pretty sure a piedfort coin is one twice the usual thickness/weight and for presentation although in it's normal state a circulating coin to begin with which would discount bullion.

You can do that, but it will be very difficult to locate a new capsule for that coin. I was given as a gift the 2012 snake 2 oz of that Chinese zodiac Lunar series, that seems to be extremely popular in all its versions, half, one and two oz in silver and one oz in gold.
