1953 Bowman Mickey Mantle #59 PSA 1

I've bought a fair number of off-condition cards on eBay, but I think I'll pass on this one:

1953 Mantle

Maybe PSA should consider creating a new grade: PSA 0.5

  • I'd take it at half that price.
  • A couple of years ago, I bought a 1955 Hank Aaron card with a large hole punched through it. But the rest of the card looked pretty good, and the price was only around $20.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

14 offers is alot. The card is a pile though. I had a 1954 Bowman Mantle in the same shape. I was getting offers of $10....$20.....my BIN was $125. I eventually auctioned off the card starting at 99 cents. The card brought $140 via auction. Maybe this seller should do the same. He is getting alot of offers, but if it is anything like what I was getting, some of the offers might be $2.25 or other laughable offers. A card in this bad of a shape should truly only be auctioned off. Let the market dictate the true worth.
  • I'd rather have this PSA 1 (MC). Even though it has an obvious flaw, the rest of the card looks OK.

LOL! You got me!! I thought the card looked good too! Until I saw that corner that looked like someones dog chewed it off. Unreal.
  • There's probably a way to raise its grade significantly: just crack the holder, and resubmit it to BCCG. I have a few BCCG 5 cards in my collection (including a 1962 Topps Mantle/Mays).
