1869 Octagon Dollar BG-1106 R4+. This coin is fully original and gradable except for that goober on the reverse at 6 o'clock. Holder states "Spots removed" There is only that one spot and as you can see it has not been removed. Someone took a couple pokes at it. Looks like tar. If they could get 150 years of ocean crust off the Central America $20 someone could get that tar ball off this coin making it a $400-$500 coin. Compare mine to this recent Stacks coin.. That coin has no hope but mine could be made gradable (IMO). Mine has red and blue toned obverse when light is reflected. P/L surfaces. A very attractive coin. $225 shipped. Returns ok minus my shipping cost.
