    Ivan,

I have not been to a show at Hofstra (my alma mater) in over 20 years. As a matter of fact, I've probably been to only a couple of shows in that time period and none in the past 10 years.

For the past few years I have said I wanted to attend one of them. I will try to get to this one.

    I'll be there.

You aren't missing much Doug...my assessment of shows these days is this...

Buyers are afraid to buy because they think they can do better online...dealers are afraid to sell because they think they can do better online...people buy garbage wax so they can feel like they left home for some purpose....

Been to a handful of shows in recent years with plenty of cash and haven't managed to buy anything.

Its funny..tons of graded stuff from the last few years...very little graded vintage

At least its the 1 time a year at hofstra where there are lot more dealers and some with impressive cards. You see some nice stuff you normally wouldnt see there

That is true. I stopped by the smaller show at the student center a few weeks ago around 12 or so and a number of dealers had already packed up. It was THAT bad.

  • Thinking of heading to this one this weekend. Went to the most recent White Plains show and was underwhelmed, far too many shiny cards for my taste and some outrageous prices on the few mid-grade Mantles I've been after. That said, does the LI show draw more graded 50's-70's cards? Is it better to go on the Saturday or the Sunday? Any opinions are appreciated before I hike it out to LI.

  • im going to head over on Sunday
