1982 Topps Boxes broken

I am half way through the box and haven't pulled anything great. A Rickey Henderson and a few other minor stars.About half the cards are a loss due to gum bleed but I can't complain for a $40 box.

What's a big hit in that box assuming there are no 10's?

  • Besides the Ripken RC, I think superstar HOF's like Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose and Rickey Henderson in PSA 9 aren't too bad to have.

How did it turn out, any nice Ripken rookies or Superstar cards?

I pulled two Ripkens but they were gum damaged. A Nolan and Rickey are only NM but there are a couple other gradeable cards.

I just did another box, a few potential 10's with RIckey Henderson and other HOF's. I did get another Ripken and more gum damage. This one has gobs of sugar crystals stuck to it. I wonder if PSA would slab it.

Did these come from the BBCexchange storage damaged case that was talked about a month ago?

It was a sealed case, the corner damaged but purchased from a reputable source. I noticed the gum is rather large compared to what I've seen before but I never really ripped any 82 material. There have been a couple nasty boxes, the gum bled and mold/mildew formed on the cards. However, there are some solid boxes. I'm now educated enough to know what a gum bled pack looks and feels like. The gum is no longer formed but has disintergrated. The wax wrapper itself shrinks tighter to the pack. You can see it sort of wrinkled up along the edge. I think out of the case, I have about 10 complete boxes with seemingly no gum bleed or noticeable issues.
