  • Matt, will you hurry the hell up and change your focus so that you don't collect Clemente anymore? I need that '64. image

Maybe we could even discuss your '55 after I talk to a mortgage guy about refinancing the condo.

  • Man oh Man! That Sayers is Sweet!!!
Only thing that would make it Sweeter is if it were in an SGC slab.
    Any chance on it crossing?

John, I think there is a very good chance it cross, or find its way into a SGC 92 holder. Its a great card. I can't remember if the original owner had told me he sent it for a review or not, but I was planning on reviewing on the next review special. I just had baseball cards reviewed.

Jason, Your going to be waiting a while on the Clemente cards. I am actually trying to dial into more cards like that with this change in focus. I really need to learn patience and wait for the big cards to come along, but can't seem to not spend on stuff between those occasions.

Boy, do I hear that. You just described my biggest flaw as a collector.

  • Echoing WalterSobchak, if you ever decide to part with your 58 63 65 Clemente, I'd be happy to take those off your hands image

Could you actually post a scan of the Payton? I have a friend who collects but not is part of the forum that may be interested.

    Thanks!

  • Boy that Sayers has some great centering Matt,

I know its hard to tell in the slab, but whats the card surface like?
Ive broken quite a few PSA 8 cards out recently and have been disappointed with the card Surface.
These were recently graded cards so maybe PSA standards have dropped for that grade, So im kinda gun shy about
the quality of PSA 8 grades from the past year or so. Ive crack nice ones in the past, but have stayed away here in
    recent times.

I know someone can chime in here maybe about how old the PSA slab is and when it was graded.

Its not like I can really afford the card at the moment, but for some strange reason I keep coming back to the thread
to gaze at it. Its like a drug! I gotta come get my daily dose of the Sayers Card!

Does a Mint 9 Elway go for $100 bucks? Ive got one of those laying around here somewhere
Maybe I can hock it and sell a few pints of blood and scrap up some extra cash!

I can't believe someone ain't jumped on it yet. If they do I hope the new owner will still let me come visit it LOL!

Yeppers, me too. Working on 66-68 Topps and I get a sweet deal on 69 Ryan, Jackson, Mays and AAron. So no I'm working on the darn 69 set, but then I get a sweet deal on 75 minis, a lot of like 100 mint with stars, so now I'm working on that. Along comes some 76-77 Topps and...
    Got to focus!
