I (seller) had bad experience on eBay - RESULTS

I sold a 1958 Topps YL Hank Aaron PSA 5 to a buyer, and I sent it the next morning with delivery confirmation and insurance. The "expected delivery date" shown on the USPS website was March 30. The post office routed it to the northeast rather than towards Wisconsin where the buyer was located. Thus, it got there three days later than the "expected delivery date." The buyer emailed me and said that he was going to leave bad feedback on me, and he then had his bank stop payment on the Paypal payment. I don't know how he did that. Paypal notified me that it was investigating and that the payment funds were being frozen. He kept the card. The buyer has terrible feedback and he has swindled other people. I have 100% feedback and over 1700 feedbacks. What can I expect.

Did you send the card with DC? If it shows dlvd and it was under $250, I can't see how Paypal could take your money if you shipped to a confirmed paypal address.

Yes, I sent it with delivery confirmation and insurance. He has the card. USPS "Track and Confirm" shows it as delivered. He has just decided not to pay for it and has stopped payment to Paypal through his bank.

I don't believe that is correct. While the buyer may have his money refunded by the bank, paypal seller protection should make you whole. I know for a fact that sellers in that same position have gotten paid in that circumstance through paypal. I would definitely call them.

Edit to add: Out him here so we can block him....I'd also do all in your power to make his life miserable.

I would strongly recommend blocking him as a bidder. His eBay user name is: wolfsong4u28099. He lives in Mondovi, Wisconsin. Check out his feedback to see how he has swindled other people.

The auction state delivery within 5-11 days. I'm sure that even with the reroute, you met that obligation. Contact PayPal, present your case, the DC tracking and delivery confirmation with shipped and received date and the confirmed address and advise about the charge back and I'm sure they'll remove the hold and open a case against the buyer... I wouldn't mention or point out any of his nefarious activity. There's no real need to add that as most of the CS reps won't care. They just want the facts and will act upon them accordingly. Good luck.

  • Scumbag for sure. Since you have proof of delivery and he got the bank to reverse the charge some how then why wouldn't paypal tell him to send the card back to you? Everybody has a credit card on file with paypal. Paypal can charge his credit card the cost of the auction if he refuses to send back. Before you turn around and say that he can reverse charges on a credit card you still have to prove that you did not recieve the item or a lesser item before reversing the charge.
This is how i would expect paypal to deal with this matter.
Hope it makes out in your favour !!

I checked his Feedback as buyer; some known dealers like chubs1995, andiehaley, and supermint1 left feedback reporting that this buyer left negative feedback for them

    Feedback for wolfsong4u28099

yet I can't seem to locate the feedback to which they alluded in the dealers feedback lists, or the buyers 'Feedback left for others' tab -- what am I missing? was it deleted?

I think he's referring to his feedback as a seller. And for another seller to be pulling this crap on you is even worse than some ebay noob doing it

Your first mistake was to send it DC !! Delivery Confirmation means nada !!. The delivery piece can simply be scanned by the carrier and placed in ANY mailbox they want...YES, I had this happen to me. In my case the card was delivered to a nice lady about 3 miles from my house...she was kind enough to look me up and call me.

So, the only...ONLY way to ship is via pink slip, shich is "signature required", or, insure for over $200, which does the same thing, but I think will cost more. This action forces the recipient to actually sign for the piece and avoid having it accidentally shipped all over the USA. Yes, I realize the prime issue is a delivery time, but with sig required, you have absolute proof that the buyer (or somebody at that address) actually signed for the piece, thus giving you more ammo with eBay/paypal.

Having said the above, you are obviously dealing with a rip off artist. I suspect eBay/paypal will favor you, how else could they rule? If they rule against you, I would appeal and appeal again.

Good that you posted this loser's handle!

GL with this unpleasant saga, pls post results.

MCMLVTopps has a point, I use delivery confirmation on everything, BUT if it's a higher dollar amount (around $100.00 or above) or I have a bad feeling about it, signature confirmation is the way to go.

    Peace of mind............................priceless.

    Muniplitave buyer!!

Sorry I bid on your auctions. Buahahahahahaha!!!
  • DC is not the issue here. The buyer got the card. But since it took longer he decided to leave negative feedback because the card did not arrive in the appropiate time. Took a few extra days so buyer decided he should be able to keep the card without paying for it and since the seller took a few extra days to get there he decided to leave a negative to boot. Once shipped we have no control of how long a package is going to take. Seller mailed it out right away and the post office routed it wrong taking a few extra days.

I don't see any negative feedback, so I assume ebay has fixed this problem. If you send an item with DC, that is less than $250, ebay has seller protection. (For over $250, you need Signature Confirmation.) As long as DC shows delivery, ebay should pull through. You cannot mention that there is an ebay case on feedback, or ebay will remove the feedback and put you on probation.

Here is the result of my bad experience: I called Paypal and gave them the delivery confirmation number on the post office receipt. They conducted a brief investigation while I was on the phone, and then immediately released the hold on the funds for the transaction. They then connected me with eBay, and I reported the incident. From the time Paypal notified me that my funds were being held until I called them and they released the fuhds was less than 24 hours. I am relieved and very satisfied with how Paypal handled this. It was a $169.99 transaction.

Also, the post by handyman that contains feedback on the buyer is not the one from my transaction. I have not left the buyer negative feedback for two reasons: 1) eBay doesn't let sellers leave negative feedback on buyers; and 2) I am afraid of what the swindling buyer might post in reply. I've got my money for the card, and I am happy.

Glad to hear you got your money back from paypal. If you follow the rules and send to confirmed address with DC (under $250) or SC (over $250) paypal does cover you even if the buyer files a bank chargeback.

My comment wasnt about your transaction.

That was just showing what type of person you were dealing with.

He used to be a seller and that was a neg he got for selling an item and someone else left him that neg. I thought it was funny because he said the buyer was munipliative because he bid and won his item. But he didnt want to sell it for the price.

It was just on his feedback.

It also says the buyers and sellers ebay id which is not yours.
