Impatient Poppage Pessimist CONTEST - WOW, SUB POPPED!!!

I currently have three submission logged in at PSA... and while I waste away the days checking my order status page 25-30 times a day... why not have some fun with it!
SUB #1 is a 30 card all-football submission subbed under the 45-day February special... logged 2/27/12, 45 business days would be 4/30/12
SUB #3 is a 122 card all-baseball submission subbed under the 45-day March Baseball-Only special... logged 3/29/12, 45 business days would be 6/1/12
The pessimist in me, and based on past submission results and things I read on the forum... I'm truly expecting the 122-card baseball only submission to pop before the 30 card football submission that has been logged in at PSA for just over a month longer!!!
On the 122 card baseball submission, 83 of the cards are 1956 Topps baseball... and 23 of the remaining 39 are Mike Trout RC's (of which I expect all to be PSA 10, but pessimistically I also don't expect that to happen).
CONTEST RULES: One entry per person. An edited post will not be considered valid. Guess the dates for which SUBS #1 & #3 will pop! The winner will be the person with the fewest number of total days away from the poppage dates! In the event of a tie, I have the following two tie-breaker questions...
Tie Breaker #1 - How many of the 23 Mike Trout RC's will get a PSA 10?
Tie Breaker #2 - Sub #2 is a SuperBowl XLV full ticket autographed by Aaron Rodgers, what will it grade?
The winner will receive one of the PSA 10 Mike Trout RC's, from whichever one I receive the most PSA 10's (IE. it's 5 different cards, ranging from 3-to-7 submitted of each)
Simply copy and paste the following, with your answers included, to participate:
SUB #1 Poppage Date:
SUB #3 Poppage Date:
Tie Breaker #1:
Tie Breaker #2:
Given the possibility that a tie could still occur given these questions, I will post a third tie breaker question once one of the submissions pop!
Contest will remain open until the day the first of the card submissions pop!
Cheers,
E

What I found interesting this time is that my card was charged immediately. Nothing like sitting on a whole lot of float for a month or two, or more.

<< <i>Easy, it is all about the financial quarter. They logged as many subs as possible up through 3/31, now they get to play catch up. It is not a first.

Sorry to be "that guy", but technically they can't record rev's until they perform the service of grading the card and putting it in the holder. subs they receive before 3/31 in which they charge us are recorded as unearned revenue.
and there aren't a lot of entries yet for the contest... so...
Get those entries in, I'll be cutting the entry timeline off at midnight tonight (by the forum clock)... so get those entries in if you want a shot at something free (I know, it's nothing super awesome, but it is FREE)!

With the exception of the 85 Moon and the 06 Bowman Rodgers, which I expected 8.5-9 on, I fully expected 10's on everything else. Clearly I missed something (I assume a surface wrinkle on the back) of the Favre that got a 5, but damn I've never gotten so many 9's before. This is far from my first grading rodeo, and even on a special, no chance I'd send in this many modern cards I wasn't sure about... I don't hate my money that much! I guess in their time of adding staff, I got me one of them new graders that's scared to give out too many 10's

We'd have a tie (at 6 total days difference) between BGSXYMARK and Smokie, and it would come down to the tie-breaker(s)!
If the sub doesn't pop today, BGSXYMARK will be the winner as no one else will be able to get a number closer given the guesses.
Good luck & here's to hoping for a tie-breaker!!!
<< <i>Yeah, it's business day #42, it was submitted under the March "Baseball Only" special, 42 is the only number retired throughout baseball... yeah, today should be the day
I came late to this party, but I would have guessed that sub #1 would have popped first anyway. The baseball sub is made up of both true vintage stuff plus a few brand-new cards. In my experience, this is a virtual guarantee of a slow sub due to the mixed vintages.
I'm not sure what their internal process looks like, but since subs are apparently kept together as they flow through the system I suspect that a vinatge/modern sub has to work its way through TWO grading queues - vintage and modern. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way if I subbed mixed lots, as I want the right eyes looking at the cards they are most experienced with. I can't imagine what a grader who only works with modern cra....err cards would think of a rough cut, and I can't imagine what a vintage guy would EVER find wrong with a modern card.

Mark,
PM me your mailing address so I can mail out your Trout RC whenever I get them back from PSA!
Okay, with the exception of getting absolutely murdered on a run of Mike Trout rookies I thought were certain 10's... this might be one of my most fortunate (dare I say BEST) submission results in quite some time... if not ever.
I thought the $4.50 special would be the azzkickin' I needed to get started on a 56 set. Bought all these raw over the course of 3 or 4 shows in St. Louis & Chicago. I'm a seasoned collector, but I'm certainly not a seasoned vintage collector with the eye for the nuances that go into grading 50's cards. I was thinking mostly 4-5 range, with a handful of 6s... did way better clocking in 28 PSA 6's, 6 PSA 7's, 1 PSA 8... and a handful of 7-8-9 with qualifiers!
And I almost crapped myself with the Pujols results... I've been searching/buying/trading/subbing these issues for some years now... and I hit 2 tough pop 1's for my basic set... plus the card that has been a thorn in my side for years (02 Flair) yielded not 1, but 2, PSA 10's!!!

My next comment is not intended for the OP but just a general statement on waiting for subs to pop and I mean no disrespect - just an observation.
We have a member of the boards here who showed more grace and patience "waiting for a kidney" than some have with respect to their subs.
