Regional Food Issues Book Proposal Idea

As respected collectors, I am looking for some general feedback regarding a proposed book from F+W Media on regional food card sets. The book (table of contents and sample cover photo attached) will look at various regional issues: Esskay Meats, Post Cereal, JELL-O, Stahl-Meyer Franks, etc.

Not a price guide, this provides a background of the regional issue, its intricacies, a flavor for collecting them in that era and its resulting popularity today.

In this publishing climate, I need to present support for such a book prior to approved publication.

You can find a link to an essay that more clearly defines the topic and offers some insight to the style of writing, etc. Beware, it's a little lengthy.

If such a topic interests you, E-MAIL ME at the link at the bottom of the essay or comment on the site itself. Thank you. Regional Food Issues

If the book is not too pricey (i.e. $25 or less), I would be extremely interested in such a book. I find regional issues to be extremely interesting (although, I cannot afford to collect many of them).

I second that, if the book is $25 or less I would love to own one. I had all kinds of regional issues back when I was a kid from when my uncles used to collect. I always thought they were cool cards.
  • I third that. If its not to pricey I would love to own one also. Mark

I love food issues. There isn't many of them left anymore. I would also buy the book, however I wish it was also a price guide. A guide is just that, a guide.

Love the idea. This book could stretch over a really long period though. By "food" sets, are we talking about all the way back to pre-war bread issues? US Caramel? If we're doing modern only, then be sure to include the Tea and Key Foods Disc sets from 80's.
