That is quite an impressive sales price.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

until you cant see the back. Id rather have 2 solid beaters than this one. Great price for the seller.

I agree...while the front looks most impressive, the back is one of the worst I have ever seen on the card. We are not talking about one dime sized spot of paper loss. We are talking about the back being totally ruined. You can't read the stats, story, anything. I think the seller made out like a bandit on this one.
  • To bad they should of had a professional remove it from that scrap book.

Just needs a visit to the doctor's office for a little r & r. A couple rolled creases and a rebacking would take care of that one just fine.

Seriously, that's a cool card IMO, would be proud to own it.

  • Actually, mine was the last bid to get beat. I had put a bid in of $6800 thinking it was plenty. Actually thought I would get it for around $5300, but as it turned out it was a two horse overbid race. I finished second. The front was just too good to pass up. Guess I will lower my standards and go back to looking for beaters.

Pick a beater you can actually read. You will get it cheaper, and it will be just as good, if not better in the long run. Whoever bought it might not have any intentions of showing the back - who knows....

Wow, if someone tried to pull that off there would be a lot of 0's in that sale.

  • I looked at the front way too long before noticing the back... sounds like a typical Friday for me.
