I have officially joined the submission waiting to be graded club

Well, I am now an official member....into week seven on my latest submission. Checked back and my last 14 submissions, excluding an oddball group, have all popped in less than two weeks. I always thought in reading the message board of submitters closing in on the estimated 45 days....what are they doing wrong and what am I doing right to get so lucky? So here I am, checking my account 2-3 times a day thinking "today has got to be the day" but to no avail. I am feeling the pain of all those who have gone before me on this road to the 45 estimated days for the monthly special. I am considering an over the counter sleep medication to get me through the night and not check my submission status at midnight in case PSA is working overtime to catch up on all the orders. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

I feel your pain. I am at work day 35 and counting. The suspense is killing me. I have been spoiled by 2 day to 20 day turnarounds in the past.
  • I just had an SGC 20 day turn pop in 18 days. All were PSA crack outs and all but two graded the same as PSA....those two graded higher, one .5 higher and the other a full grade. Now, before all the naysayers get their panty's in a wad, I'm not looking to turn a profit, I'm a collector and I just happened to like the holders better. Doesn't matter to me if they sell for less, I won't be selling em. To date I've had good luck with SGC, in lieu of tick-tock-tick-tock.
If one is looking to turn a profit....probably not for you though.

Thanks for the relavant post. We are here for the best grading company in the world to grade our cards. So we can have the best graded cards in our collection, or sell our best company graded cards.

    Thanks for the post though...

Sorry I was being a doink there, but we don't really want to hear about another companies pop time.. I get cards graded with BGS a bunch lately, but willl never post results, or return time, as that is just not good IMO. Sorry if my response was harsh. Glad you got your cards graded quickly and are happy, at the end of the day that's all that matters...

    see what happens PSA??!?!?!?

you make our esteemed members wait beyond their standard time in the process and it throws off their equilibrium and causes tetonic shifts.

then, they start talking to themselves in an online forum.

Thanks for the irrelevant post. Who don't know that PSA is THE best.., to date. My point is there are alternatives to pi$$ing and moaning on a forum about how long a company takes to grade cards. If one chooses that alternative ....fine. If not, well...fine too. To each their own. If it takes longer than stated, there's probably a reason for it...they are the best, thus more volume. Live with it or look elsewhere. "Worry about only those thing you can control." In the grand scheme of life, I doubt it matters much if PSA, the best, takes 45 days, 90 days or 365 days to put a grade on a piece of cardboard.
  • Well if anyone watches there stock lately... Just saying I was out at 17.72.

Anyway if they take 90 or 365 days might be time for the DH hitter...

I agree itzagoner! My world is spinning way too fast or too slow...I don't know which due to the unknown grades the near future will hopefully soon reveal. However, it has been theraputic just to get it out there on the message board and know that others are sharing my pain. My last submission was graded in five days and results were below expectation so maybe the length of this submission's wait is a good omen. As for SGC, I really like their holders also but most of my SGC cards have been crossed over to PSA and most have been right on target. I even had a couple 92's from about 15 years ago that crossed to 9's. I believe they are both very good companies and I'm glad collectors have several options.

I was thinking more along the lines of a pinch-hitter, ie more graders.

And I'll bet you made out very well at $17.72.....now...full disclosure. lol.

I hope you know I'm just messing with ya.

    3,000 at 16.01...

    but who's counting,

But seriously I am discouraged with the wait times... I have 3 subs out there for over 500 cards, and if there is a backlog, they should hire more. This isn't the first time I have read complaints about long wait times for loggage, nevermind grading. If this company is the it, they need to act like such. Game on, or game over, they will lose more in the long run. I've kept only thicker auto's and game used to BGS. I want to believe in the long run PSA will have a fight in the game of modern, at least I have been doing so for 2 plus years...

  • Why is it so inconsistent ? I sent mine in on 2/28, it was logged 3/5 and popped 3/12. It was kind of a nonsense sub and
    only 25 cards
  • First off, I think if the sub was postmarked at the end of March for the 45 day sub, especially if CC #1 was written on the outside, those are going to get tended to last. They know they have 45 days. I don't blame them. Also if it's modern and vintage that will make it take longer, and different sports too will do the same.

I mark my subs on the outside for whatever sub level it is. I had one received last Wed with no loggage yet. My other one was mailed last Friday, no loggage.

I have never waited this long in 3 plus years for a sub to be logged. But with that special it's understandable I guess.
