Silver coin times what for current value?

I know it's a constantly moving number but at today's value for silver what is the multiplier for melt value?

A customer just brought a box of silver coin in for me to value, most of its just melt!

Thanks!

    Silver is at 33.03 x .715 = 23.6 times face for 90%

That's full melt value. You might be able to ask that for it, but don't expect folks to be lined up. If you're buying it from someone else, I would recommend not paying that either.

Someone put up a chart showing the silver breakdown of all the different silver coins last year.

    Does anyone have that?

Go to Kitco's website and find the spot price.

Multiply that by 0.715 which is a good approximation when wear and silver loss is factored in. The answer will be the full spot price for $1 of face value.

Be careful when buying very worn coins. Actual weight can sometimes be much less. In these situations a good scale is your friend. Ask me how I learned that.
