What's the proper etiquette to give a referral?

Howday all! I'm new on the PCGS site. I have some coins and currency that I would like to post but I'm not sure about the best way to give a referral. I do have a very good referral from the currency side, but I'm not sure of the proper etiquette in using someone's name as a referral? Should I get the okay from them first? Just use them as a referral anyways? Thanks...
