  • I saw that video before it was pulled.

"Oh I don't know what that is" or some crap like that.... threw a redemption to the side.

Sure looks like he stole the redemption.

Looks very bad. Anyone who collects this set know what he got there? Certainly if he truly didn't "know" what it was, he should have held it up for the camera.

Who would ever want in on that? The guy is so rough with the cards, moron...

Really believe it was a monster redemption in my heart. He was really shaky after he saw it.

What a scumbag. Do they just do these recorded? If so, why wouldn't he just go buy another box if he got a huge hit and show the new one?

Does he not think that anyone who bought into that break wouldn't know that was a redemption? What a douche.

    Breaks are virtual scams IMO.

There are so many ways to be scammed when buying it, I'm surprised we dont get a thread like this every day of the week. Go buy a box....if you cant afford a box of whatever theyre breaking, you shouldnt be buying cards in the first place...

I don't participate in any of those box break purchases, but I can see a very big reason why someone would even if lack of funds is not an issue - team collectors. They're able to buy the cards they want and not have to deal with the rest of the box.

  • If you want to get involved in a Group Break the only place is... Box Breakers

Chris Palmeiri is a member here, and is what is considered the innovator to group breaks through video. They have over 1400 videos on Youtube, and were voted #1 Group Box Breakers for the last 2 years. Featured in the New York Times, etc, etc.

Anyway not spamming just saying I would never do one unless it was with him.

I have participated in about 20 breaks and they are the most professional ever. I pulled some big hits too. You can watch dozens and dozens of them on his site.

This guy in the video with the redemption issue makes me sick....

Al from boxbreakings.com is honest as well. He records the box serial number, being opened and flips the lids/boxes for the camera to see. He doesn't do it live but he does post them on Youtube and if you can tell he puts himself out there. As mentioned above, Chris is also a class act. Lastly, there are some case breaker hosts on BO that are popular.

Go to 4:55 on this break....

Making jokes about the SB from the original video looks like it may become pretty routine for a while.

People pay, typically by team, pack, card number in sequence, etc., for someone to rip a box, case, etc. Typically people buy into the break to cover the cost of the break, without having to shell out money for a full box, case. It's like a group break, except one person does all of the opening of the cards via video, then the cards are distibuted out based on whatever slot you paid for.

    A box break is

When a group of collectors pool their money together to buy boxes/cases/high dollar pack. You can buy team or it is by random draw. The breaker normally does it live or post it on youtube.

There are many that are legit and can be a good idea in certain situations.

I have never been a part of one but I watch alot of them and have thought about it.

I agree, half of the fun is opening the boxes yourself. If someone only wants certain players or teams I would just go and buy those individual cards.

FWIW I "run" a Football box break club on Blowout....We have 16 members. We get a small discount on the boxes which allows for "free" supplies.
We all get the team we collect (I have the Pats) and then we random up the other 16 teams.

The breaks are done live and the recordings saved until everyone receives their cards.

We kick in $30 a month and have a break every 2 months. It's a fun, inexpensive way to get cards of your team or hit lightning in a bottle with a super nice card in your random team.

This last break we had 2 very nice hits, 1 a PC team and 1 a random team.

The PC hit was a redemption, expired in 2010, for a Brett Favre auto patch /25. Panini is cool about expired redemptions so I expect the guy to get something.
The random hit was for a guy who collects the Cleveland Browns.....his random team was the Bengals and he got a printing plate autograph of AJ Green

Jerks like the guy in the vid are nothing but people looking to turn a $80 box into $140 by selling slots on Ebay.

Yeah I run a baseball club on BO with monthly breaks, as well as another one with just Bowman baseball products that has 30 members with multiple breaks each month. For me, its great fun to be able to break cases all the time. Not so fun sorting and packaging/shipping though image

I have also joined many breaks, either the large bowman player draft ones, or the high end hit drafts where I have had mostly terrible luck - but did get lucky to hit a Koufax auto, Pujols auto, etc ...

  • What a dirtbag. He also probably goes to target and weighs the packs. He knew darn well what that was. Horrible. Why do people go in on those box breaks? The dishonest creeps never last. I hope there is karma for people like that thief.
