Are Auction Reps Moving from 5% to 7.5%?

If an auction rep agrees to work for 5%, are they obligated to tell the client if the rep's aggregated auction purchases exceed the $50K cutoff?
The client is presumably planning on paying 122.5% anyway, so if the rep owes the auction house only 115%, why not pocket the 2.5% left over?
Shouldn't this be a "reward" for the rep, if they were able to attract this much business?
