Derek Jeter 1996 Rookie

Interesting that Jeter's Rookie is actually 1996 and not from 1993 as mistakenly believed for that last 2 decades.

Nice card though!

I thought there were less than 60-80 Wagners out there?

I would much rather have a '96 Jeter than a T206 Wagner. I just bought that ish.

It seems like because of all of the different kinds of cards that were/are being produced, the word "rookie" is used WAY too frequently. Just because it's his 1st Score "Select Certified" card doesn't really mean it's his rookie card! image There are probably lots of examples of this. Chipper Jones and Mariano Rivera are a few that come to mind:

This card came out in the 1994 Fleer Ultra Set...

    And this one was 1996!

Well, if it says "rookie" on the card, it can certainly be sold as a "rookie card", seeing that it says rookie and is a card.

Technically 1996 was his RC season... and in 1996 he won Rookie Of The Year.

This seller is no fool, he knows his Jeter stuff and knows the market. That is an extremely difficult card to find and it has sold for a ton in the past. I have heard many Jeter collectors refer to anything 1996 and earlier as "The Rookie Years"... again 1996 was his first season even though card manufacturers were all over him before he hit the bigs.
