I dont know if the dude who collected the Ripken Errors still visits the site, but he used to mention that in addition to the 5 or so accepted errors show in price guides and a few other accepted errors, that there are still a few more variations know among collectors. Perhaps those are some of them.
I know for sure that they only listed two Randy Johnson RC variations in the Beckett last I looked and I own 5 different ones myself, so there could be more.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
This is just because there are several dedicated collectors of this card, who honestly take into account every technical variation of this card. Two auctions down the road it probably sells for $5 but they'll fight like hell not knowing if another one would surface.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors. saucywombat@hotmail.com
The white out version, and the saw cut version of this card are both often fakes.
But even minor print defects that get hobby recognition, for whatever reason, can bring big premiums, such as the 58 Herrer, the 57 Bakep, the 52 Campos black star, and more recently the 52 House yellow lion. Another example would be the premiums paid for the 1982 Topps Blackless cards , or the 1980 Topps yellow names
