Curt Flood Documentary on Comcast On Demand

I watched it the other day when I was bored and it was really good. I strongly recommend it.

It's card related because they show a couple of images of his cards.

I met him once in the mid-80s when he came to JJ's Budget Baseball cards in the San Fernando Valley. My dad was from St. Louis and had been to a ton of his games, particularly a double-header where Flood went 8 for 9 (I haven't verified that stat line, my dad was wont to exaggerate). He sat and talked to my dad all afternoon. I got three signed cards out of it. They're still in my collection.

Your dad may be correct, he had 8 hits on August 16th 1964.

    Good for you.

Thanks for the date! Too funny, not only was Flood 8 for 9 that day, but that double header was played in Los Angeles. I'll have to chalk this one up in dad's truth column. I still have my doubts that he scored four touchdowns in one game in high school. image
