Those of you who collect packs, I have a question.

How many of you open them?
Another question: are you concerned that there still may be tons of this stuff out there so it's overvalued? I mean, I have A LOT of this stuff and never really thought it was all that rare.
Thanks and have a GREAT Friday!

No way you have this stuff. This stuff is SO rare. I heard about a guy having this stuff once, but I just figured he was lying. Congrats on having this stuff.
Without question, the older the material, the more difficult it is to find. And with each subsequent pack that is opened, supply in turn drops. Unlike graded card population reports, which work inversely, the supply of those will always increase. So however you choose to define the scarcity of unopened material, the (true) supply is the highest now that it will ever be.
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
Are you concerned that there still may be tons of this stuff out there so it's overvalued? For the stuff I mainly collect (pre-1980 packs), I don't think there is tons of stuff otherwise places like BBCE and Dave & Adams would have no problems finding it for the prices they are selling for now. And remember, a lot of the stuff on eBay just changes hands so it looks like more stuff than there actually is.
Hope you have a great Friday too!!!
Edited to add: I've got stuff too and I'm not sharing.

<< <i>70's are my strike zone >>
I collect the 80's and some 70's cellos and racks and I do think some sales that I see are over valued and there are some items out there that I think are fairly undervalued. The supply of packs 60 years out I would think is mostly known or accounted for in the market. For example the '71 are relative scare and even if 4-5 cello cases hit the market at the same time I think the demand would be there to not affect prices on those.
By the way I am looking for the following 3 packs if you have them in your inventory that you can help me out with:
1971 Bert Blyleven showing
1973 Goose Gossage showing
1977 Bruce Sutter Showing

I'm very wary of anything modern - '60 on up. Fritsch has a warehouse of this stuff, and if he ever decided to dump it the values would plummet, both on unopened and on cards and sets.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

The problem is we don't know exactly what Fritsch has or doesn't have. So we are left to spectulate. When the father passed away, that is when we might have seen these packs flood the market. Since it didn't happen, we are left to assume that his son is carrying on his father's policy of not putting too much out into the market. But what years, quantities, and types of packs, we just don't know.
It would be great to get into that warehouse though.

Edit to add: Fritsch probably has more than anyone in the warehouse but I believe it's less than what some think and certainly not from all years and issues like rack cases for example.

That's me, LOL!
I do keep the pre-1975 stuff sealed for the most part, though..
