Finally . . . a 1958 Ed Bouchee (custom)

Most collectors are familiar with the fact that Topps pulled card #145, Ed Bouchee, from its 1958 set. While rumors abounded about the existence of survivors, none has ever been credibly reported.

The next best thing my latest custom card . . .

Bob ... as usual a great looking card. Picture is clear and crisp. Too bad the player is a POS. (Thus the reason the card was not printed by Topps.)
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

After reading the history on the guy I'm not so sure he deserves a custom card. I'm familiar with second chances and all but what he did can never be undone for the victims.

Bouchee had a Topps card in 1957 and after reinstatement to baseball in mid season in 1958, went on to have Topps cards in 1959, 1960. 1961 and 1962.

I do not view Bob's effort as a tribute to Mr Bouchee, but rather a nod to us old time collectors who searched in vain for Mr Bouchee's card, which was listed on the 1958 Phils team card checklist in the first series as card 145. He was expunged from later checklists in the set.

For years many of us also searched for a prototype or proof card, or even a hoard of cards pulled from distribution ( since his name was on a checklist), but we can now settle for this card that never was image
