HELP !! Being held hostage on EBay

I purchased 4 items from what has turned out to be a deadbeat seller, 7757shawn. When I purchased the items, their feedback was 100%.
Not look, it's dropped to 98.1% because he has failed to send out cards after being paid.

Originally, I won 4 items and did not pay until he combined shipping. Auction description states combined shipping, but once it was invoice
time, he wanted $12.60.

I do not want to pay this guy because it looks like he won't send anything. Is there ANYTHING I can do ?? He has now filed 4 unpaid items
and I do not want the strikes as it will limit by bidding ability. He will not respond to any questions, etc.

HELP !!

eBay will do nothing for you in this situation, although if you have not previously asked for NPB strikes to be removed, they will let you use the "one free" removal on this entire group of strikes.

With that fairly low amount of money at stake, I'd pay, hope he doesn't ship anything, and they get your money back thru PayPal.

I wouldnt take a chance on it....if he deadbeats one, he will another

Also, the term "hostage" is being overly used. I would go with the term extortion first

Can't you answer them? I'd answer them with: Seller won't combine shipping
    as stated in description.

Or seller refuses to send revised invoice.

    Blame him.

    Good for you.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I paid it. I don't want unpaid strikes and I don't want any negatives. Luckily, he quickly left positive feedback so
that worry is gone. Once, and if received, it will be the first time that I leave negatives.

That worry was never there, a seller cannot leave negative or neutral feedback, positive ONLY.

You did the right thing in paying, it covers you a$$ as far as unpaid strikes go and you are covered by Paypal if you don't get anything or get trash.

This is not rocket science. If you don't want to pay him the money...then don't. So what if he actually gives you a strike. Since you already paid him I have a bridge for sale in NJ if you are interested.

did you tell the seller you want the items shipped individually?

I would have insisted on it.

If you wanted, you could really mess with him when they arrive Together.......
  • If they arrive together file not as described, since he charged you for individual shipping they should be individually shipped. You can and should give him hell.

If you asked the seller to combined shipping, and he still refuses to budge, then you'd have to evaluate whether the items are still worth it w/ the additional shipping cost. If they are, I would pay for the items, and then neg him (and low DSRs) when you get them. If it's not worth it, then probably just take the NBP as others stated before.
