1980 Topps Name in Yellow?

Does anyone know if these were distributed in all methods i.e. vendor, cello, rack and wax? Also, anything on a ratio of name in yellows to the standard version?

Thanks.

There's so few of them that I don't think there is any knowledge as to whether it was distributed in all manners. I think the ones I've heard about were found in wax. But the ratio of standard to name in yellow is hundreds [if not thousands] to one.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Here are a couple of old threads regarding these cards.

I have a bunch of them...Braun, Stanley, Wathan, Poquette, McEneany, Washington. I also have a no name Pryor. All are listed in the SCD Standard catalog except Washington and McEneany.

They are just print defects where a color in the printing process ran low. If it had not been for the early fame of the Stanley all of them might have been ignored like most other print defects. There may be other cards affected as well . The values of the ones in the Catalog spiked for awhile ( a PSA 9 Stanley went for over $ 2K) . I don't collect graded cards ( although my Stanley is a PSA 8) but if any of these are in the 1980 master Registry set that may be another reason for their continued popularity

They are pretty scarce and I agree with Marc that they likely circulated in the normal 1980 Topps distribution chain, but I do not know the specifics
