Has there been an update on the 2011 no mint mark "Elongated 2"

Awhile back there was a thread citing a source concerning the "fat 2" or elongated 2" in that dates for the 2011 no mint mark Silver Eagle (from the 25th anniversary set). It said something about using that as a characteristic to determine where it was actually minted. Does anyone know the source of that information? It stated that about 15% of the coins in the 25th anniversary set had this characteristic and may (might/potentially) be used to track its origin of mintage. I do have several of these and just curious of they are worth hanging onto.

Thanks for you help - I am terrible at searching the threads. I always get a return of nothing found!!

I can say with the utmost confidence that you can extrapolate that the coin was not minted in the 18th,19th or 20th Cen by the shape and location of the 2.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
