How about our own unopened pack forum?

I do not know if anyone has spoke about this subject before but I think it would be cool to just have a PSA forum like this to show packs, talk about unopened rips, and generally just talk about the unopened market. Even though I dont chime in much, I love to see whats out there and I think everyone learns something. I hope it would not take away from from the Sports Cards And Memorabilia threads that we have already. It would be a first place I would check everyday. I think that it would raise more awarness in unopened material and might be fun. Just a Sunday thought....

Great idea, I'm for it. The ebay pack group went well for 4-5 years until it just died off. This is a better venue for it.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I don't chime in much either but I would like to see this as well.

Maybe it could replace the vintage BST forum. Nobody posts on that forum anymore. I don't mind about the posts being on the main forum but I would be cool with a separate forum as well. Anything to discourage new posters from peeing and moaning about threads they coud easily just ignore if they had better things to do with their time.

I like the idea too. As griffins said the one on eBay was pretty good. That one was more private though and we were able to warn eachother of bad packs etc., something we will have problems doing on this forum. Maybe we we could expand it to unopened and maybe registry sets, or something else. That way we attract a bigger audience.
  • Sounds good. Would be cool to require all members to be actual vintage pack rippers (at least one!) image

I like it, I'm in; got some cool late 70's thru mid 80's stuff. I would like to learn what to submit and what not to submit for grading.

I don't think it will happen. We tried this awhile ago with the autograph collecting threads and PSA wouldn't do it.

Hey John, it would be great to see your unopened stuff. It would be cool just to have a thread dedicated to all unopened packs (wax, cello, racks, stars on top, no stars at all, whatever) and the ripping of said packs. Not that I would recommend it. image

Today I sent a message to Steve (BBCE) on his facebook page regarding a forum site. I wanted to see his reaction and I asked him that if he agrees, can he ask Joe O about it. It is so true that some of these forums do not get much attention. Maybe we can have them combine 2 less attention forums and add this one.

As an unopened collector (and a person who rips his fair share of packs), I like the idea, but I'm not sure it warrants its own forum, as all the group rips and threads are going to be posted on the main board anyway to maximize exposure.

Blowout has a seperate forum for breaks/rips and I think it would be better to move the rips to a seperate forum.
