Poppage Today, Pulled A 10 On A 1969 Topps Card!

Received some poppage today. As always, disappointed on a few grades (one in particular will be cracked and resubmitted) but I can't complain about this entry:

16 1 19680981 GEM MINT 10 1969 TOPPS 58 FRED GLADDING Card

To date, it is the oldest card I have ever submitted for grading that has pulled a 10 (and on top of that, it is a low pop)! Inasmuch as I am not putting together a graded set of the 69s, I need to figure out the best way to move the card. I have not sold anything on eBay in literally a couple of years but it would probably be the quickest turn around option. I am still pretty stoked!

Nice grade..............my only 10 in vintage was also a 1969 Topps card ! At the time it was a Pop 1 ...............sold it on E-Bay in 2007 to the Topp rated guy on the Registry at that time ! Good luck on selling it !

Congrats! a 10 is always a great feeling.

To sell, may want to contact the consignment guys (Probstein or PWCC sp?).

Very nice- I do have a complete 69 registry set & the highest grade is a 9 on a couple fairly easy commons.
BBG probably has a good idea for the way to sell it on eBay.

Send it to Rick Probstein - it will take an extra couple of days, but will pay for itself....

I agree ... and GOOD LUCK!
And what will you be doing with the money you make from the sale? Using it to pay for your next submission! LOL

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Thanks all for the kind words and advice.

Turning to an issue raised, I have never cosigned to an eBay seller. At first blush, that seems counterproductive; you are getting hit with another fee and, arguably, on a graded card, you can get the same price as anyone else (I have over 1000 feedback and it is spotless). Would anyone care to share further insight on this? Thanks!

Matt: No reason you couldn't sell it yourself, just was thinking if you don't have recent selling feedback and burst on the scene with a biggie it might raise red flags.

My feedback is high too, but I use Rick and PreWar routinely too. They often get higher than average prices, thereby offsetting their fees. They both truly command a premium from bidders due to their history and steady stream of good stuff.

Either way, good luck with it - and fine job!

Thanks again all. I appreciate the advice. I may check the eBay sellers out. That really is the crux of the matter-- can there selling of the item command a premium that would offset consignment fees. At the end of the day, as a seller, you obviously want to maximize your profits.

As always, good and insightful comments all the way around. The advice is much appreciated.

Well my cards came back today. I went ahead and put the card up for auction on eBay starting at .99 cents. I figure what the heck. Here is a link if anyone is interested in seeing a scan:
