Frank & Sons Show In CA

Has anyone been to this show recently? From what I gather it happens twice a week. Thinking of checking it out. Any opinions welcome. Thanks.

It runs Wednesday and Saturday. Some vintage, both raw and graded. Never bought any there as it's pricy. A couple dealers sell supplies. Several have new stuff, and about half the place is non sports cards stuff. I may go over Saturday to get some hobby 2012 Heritage boxes. It's worth checking out.

I go once a month and will most likely be going on the 24th. One of the vendors has a high end vintage card I've been eyeing, that I may be picking up next time I go (if it's still available).

Some things are pricey, some are not - depends on the vendor. I'm always on the hunt for early 80s and 70s wax, and only a couple of times have I found any. Mostly I just go to cherry pick modern rookies for submission, but sometimes you can find something unexpectedly!

If you have time after the show, head to the Carls Jr. close by. Sit, eat, and have a good laugh at all of the Yugi-Oh/WoW/Magic card collectors battle it out with their new pickups. image

I bet there is quite the opportunity for people watching there. Looking forward to checking it out.

I would say the booths are only 10% sports and 90% non sports

This is accurate. Probably about 20-22 Sportscard tables total plus supply places.

I just went this past Saturday for the first time. It was pretty decent. Not a lot of great stuff though there are two vendors that have some nice vintage stuff. One vendor in particular is an older woman who has some very nice vintage. I picked up a eye pleasing '58 Mays PSA 4, which looked a lot nicer and a bunch of Kalines I've been looking for. For the most part, she was pretty pricey, but she was nice enough to talk to and eventually knocked a few bucks off the total.

There's a ton of non-sport. You can also find some junk wax there if that's your thing.

    I'll definitely go back though.
