2011 World Series Team Signed Baseballs (St. Louis Cardinals & Texas Rangers) Auctioning for Can

I recently helped organize a cancer benefit for my fiance's brother. Bud Selig and Major League Baseball made an incredible donation to our event of two baseballs signed by the teams in the 2011 World Series (Cardinals and Rangers). Being in Wisconsin, we knew we had a limited audience for these items and not many people willing to offer what they might be worth. So, we decided to put reasonable reserve prices on the balls with the plan that if we didn't get our minimum price they would be auctioned off online. So, here they are. The St. Louis Cardinals ball is signed by 34 including Pujols, McGwire, LaRussa, Freese, Berkman, ect.. The Texas Rangers Ball is signed by 31 including Hamilton, Young, Wilson, Beltre, ect..I will include with each ball the letter we received from Major League Baseball describing their contribution (picture in the auctions).

Hopefully you all are okay with me posting this here rather than in BST. I just wanted to get as much exposure as possible, as this is a good cause.

100% of the auction price after ebay fees will go to Jake Scott's Cancer Benefit Fund.

About Jake's diagnoses:

On Oct. 16, 2011 Jake was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer.
Jake has had a series of surgeries, the most recent removing
his lymph nodes on his right side. The doctors have several
ways to proceed. Option one is to begin chemo immediately
with observation for the next two year. With the chemo
option, there are many adverse side effects.

The second option is to do only observation. The observation
will require Jake to have blood tests each month and a
CT Scan every three months. After evaluation of these tests
the doctors will determine how to proceed.

Due to the new Health Care Laws, and Jake turning 26 years old on Nov. 2, 2011, his health insurance ended on Dec. 31, 2011. Since Jake is unable to secure private health insurance, he will need to pay for Cobra insurance. As you may know, Cobra insurance is very expensive.

In addition to the extra insurance costs, lost wages and other out of pocket medical needs there is going to be a financial burden for at least the next two years.

To give back to the sport he loves, Jake has coached ice hockey for River City Youth Hockey, Central/Logan Red Raiders and currently Sparta, West Salem, Bangor High School Hockey team. Jake wanted to give these kids the skills and great memories this sport has given him.

Jake has always been a hard working positive person. This disease has made Jake stronger and even more positive. He greatly appreciates all contributions that have been made in this process!
