Gave In & Ripped a Few 1975 Mini Packs

So I finally gave in to temptation and decided to rip a few 1975 mini packs. Here was the most serious of the star power (600 DPI high res):

The corners are flawless on the front to both the naked eye and a 5x loupe.

and after two rounds (1st = by eye, 2nd = by 5x loupe) of weeding out the rest I still have close to 62.5% of the cards in the "submit" pile.

Oh well, the special is $4.50/card this month....

;-)

This one was not quite the in the same league as Ryan due to the top edge yellow, but one of the least tilted Schmidt 3rd years I've seen:

Are those the $40 packs from BBCE? I picked up a few a couple weeks ago and got that same Ryan, though mind is grossly off center. Yours looks great.

Very nice Dave. If that grades well for you there will be quite a few more mini packs you could buy!!!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Wow Dave - that Ryan is sweet.

I think it compares with one I got back from PSA - so IMO you got a 9 there fer sure.

Both Ryan and Schmidt are centered a bit low for Mint 9 (Schmidt is also OC L/R), imo, but I think you have a shot at an 8.5 with the Ryan, if they don't hit you for the snow or the minor chipping on the edges. I predict it will grade a solid 8.

  • Looks good Dave, at least an 8 on the Ryan with a great chance at the half grade bump. Speaking of 8's, I don't have an address yet for those 8 packs. I have to admit though, my chances on Brett and Yount increased! image

Takes me back to the spring of '75, my dad bought wholesale for a small store and brought several '75 boxes home that summer. Love the Ryan photo on that card.
  • Congrats on the Ryan - A solid 8; maybe an 8.5 on a good day. BTW - check out those stats - Ryan had over 300 k's for three years in a row at that point...

And, I posted a 75 min want list in the BST section earlier in the week. LMK if you have anything from the rip. thx.

Much nicer Ryan than an 8 IMHO. I just pulled an 8 and Dave's is much better.
