Cello packs?

Are cello packs becoming more popular. With PSA grading cellos and a set registery for those with stars on top, is this fueling an increase of popularity?

Which wax packs are sheer enough to see if any stars are showing?

If PSA began grading rack packs, would that fuel them as well?

I've never collected sealed cellos or anything before, but once seeing the people's collections on here I have decided to get into it. I love the look of the PSA slabbed cellos with stars on top.
Looking for PSA HOF autos, PSA Vintage Red Sox and Pedro Martinez

I like collecting cellos MUCH more than wax packs, just because you can see the player on top/bottom. It gives the pack personality. image

Hey, this pack has plenty of personality.

If they ever grade rack packs, watch out. image

    Collecting:
Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
  • Mike aren't you supposed to be opening a pack or box, and posting it here like Grote? image

Who is this Grote you speak of? I once knew an unopened pack collector by that name, but he's gone into hiding.

Maybe I'll rip a pack at the National. They sell 1988 Topps packs there, right?

I started collecting stars on top of cellos/racks in the past year and really enjoy it.

To answer your question, my belief is PSA is helping the value of cello packs(graded and ungraded).

It seems to be on the upswing at the moment.

Yeah, this is pretty much identical to my journey into cello packs. I now want them, in large amounts, with lots of stars on the top.
  • Hope so, I've got tons of racks stowed away!!!!

I certainly think the PSA registry has added to the excitement of cello collecting in the past couple of years....by the way please join the fun in my signature line if you have an 80's rookie graded pack.

My preference is towards cellos over wax packs too because of the clear look at the card showing. For some sports like Basketball and Hockey though, wax is your only route and particaly why I think those offerings are a little less desireable. I mean basketball pack collecting other than 1986 Fleer packs is completely dead today compared to 75-'85 cello pack collecting.

I do expect rack packs to one day be PSA graded and that should provide another leg up to the collecting fever. I am stocking up my Ripken's for that day anyway:
