1968 Topps Nolan Ryan - On Edge of Sheet?

A buddy I work with brought in a Ryan rookie today for me to look at. It has a white stripe along the left hand border (similar to the eBay link attached).

I didn't think it was on the edge of the sheet and questioned it's authenticity...thoughts?

Text .....similar photo (as far as that left edge went)

  • Could it be a Milton Bradley version? They often have the white strip.

Thanks....any other way to tell Milton Bradley 68 BB/FB apart from regular 68's?

Does the Ryan generally sell for about the same?

The MB usually sells for a premium. PSA just started grading them (in the past two years?) so it is a low pop card that the registry folks like to get.

The original sheet had the Ryan rookie bottom left. That would mean that the white border would be to the left of the Koosman card. I purchased a reprint of the original Topps Sheet many years ago. I know nothing of the Milton Bradley card. Only telling you that where the Ryan card falls on the sheet would possibly mean that the white border would show if it was off center.
