  • This thread reminds me to check the BST thread more often. I didn't buy any. But since I'm being invited to discuss: In my opinion "rainbow" and "Peace Dollar" just don't fit together naturally. image

I saw the ad on the BST. But since they weren't being sold by DH, I didn't open the thread.

They looked AT to me and the seller/Alt doesn't have an amazing reputation so I am not sure what there is to discuss? There are plenty of people who want so deeply to believe in that stuff that I am sure the buyers wont be buried to deeply as the next sucker will come along and snap them up. I am how ever curious to how the next batch will be marketed? image

I clicked on BST listing, scrolled down, viewed them, exited, and never gave them any further thought.

why do registered members of the PCGS forum go to SleepyHollow to discuss things taking place at the PCGS forum???

For the same reason many members here discuss things taking place at the NGC forum:
    Coins, first.
    Gossip, second.

I think the first one offered was worth $65 raw and that offer still stands, if in a holder who knows?

    They looked cheezy to me.

I saw them and thought about pulling the trigger one in particular that almost had me convinced it was good, but didn't. Maybe if it was half price, I would have taken the chance.

I've had positive deals with the seller.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

In PCGS slabs, these would be phenomenal coins that would sell for many multiples of greysheet prices. If the seller thought he could get them into PCGS or NGC slabs I strongly suspect he would have done so. If they aren't AT, he left a tremendous amount of money on the table. If he was selling a single example you might be able to convince people that it might be NT. When you have 10 or 20 RAW coins for sale, it's pretty hard to convince anyone they're legit. Who on earth would have such a large number of well-matched toned coins?
  • I believe that he originally listed the roll of 20 for sale for 650 or 700 bucks, before listing indiviudally with pics.
