1954 Franklin Bugs Bunny???

I had a closer look at one of my 1954 BU Franklins and it appears to be a Bugs Bunny
Is it common to find it on non-1955 pieces??

All other dates are scarcer than the 1855, but I do not think 1954 ranks as THE scarcest. I look in the pop reports may help answer that. I own four of the 1954 Bugs, myself.

    I also own a 1951.
  • Thanks Rampage. I'm setting up at the local coin show tommorow. I'll try to sell it for a small premium...

1954 is one of the more common Bugs dates. In my experience it ranks as the 3rd most common behind the 1955 and 1956.

I sold a PCGS MS63 a few months ago for just under $70.

The "Bugs Bunny" Franklin is nothing more than the end result of a die clash. As such, it could appear on literally ANY Franklin Half except the proofs.

It was not until just recently that PCGS began attributing Denver and San Francisco Bug Bunny coins as the general consensus was that only the Philly coins had the clash.
This has proven to not be the case.

Some are more difficult than others to find and some have a little different appearance than the standard Bugs Bunny with the clash occuring further up the profile under the nose.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
