Odd, a 1 month delay in Barry Larkin's HoF election rookie card bump....

I figured there'd be a run on his cards the moment he got elected, but it seemed to take a month before the demand really kicked up:

1987 Fleer Barry Larken PSA 10s on Ebay:
1/8: $79.95 (BIN)
** Larkin elected **
1/9: $89.95 (1 bid)
1/9: $67.66 (14 bids)
1/23: $69.44 (1 bid)
1/26: $135.00 (1 bid)
2/15: $131.06 (10 bids)
2/21: $100.88 (6 bids)
2/26: $108.50 (2 bids)

Very interesting. Any idea how his Topps Tiffany rookie is doing?

It was volatile at first, but now it's a bit soft.

1987 Topps Tiffany Larkin PSA 10
    1/1: $76.00 (20 bids)
    1/1: $99.00 (bin)
    1/5: $133.50 (10 bids)
    1/8: $195.95 (bin)
    1/9: $100.00 (16 bids)
    1/10: $149.99 (bin)
    1/10: $88.75 (bin)
    1/12: $101.99 (18 bids)
    1/15: $100.00 (1 bid)
    1/29: $99.99 (1 bid)
    2/1: $75.00 (bin)
    2/11: $88.00 (5 bids)
    2/20: $80.00 (bin)

I think the 1987 Fleer card is probably getting a "Registry" bump, since it's the card PSA decided to use.

But... when you go down to PSA 9s, it's a different story:

1987 Fleer Larkin PSA 9: many sales below $20.
1987 Topps Tiffany Larkin PSA 9: many sales over $20

Thanks for posting those numbers. That's very interesting. I would have assumed the Tiffany card was bringing better numbers. That might be a great card to buy and hang on to for a while.

    Thanks again.

Perceived over production - everybody that wants one has one? Very few collectors out there chasing a large quantity of copies?

Look at the example of Jack Butler - NFL HOF this year. Not many copies of his '57 rookie card out there and a big bump right after his induction.

This is just for a psa 7

    2/6/12 eBay $100.00
    2/4/12 eBay $102.50
    2/3/12 eBay BIN $89.99
    8/23/11 eBay BIN $20.00
    5/29/11 eBay $10.65
    5/13/11 eBay $12.00
    3/13/11 eBay $14.50
    3/7/11 eBay BIN $20.00
