This could be a big shot in the arm for the hobby. It could just as easily disappear like so many other failed reality shows. I'm cautiously optimistic.

True. But if they didn't script some of it, people would tune out from boredom. An authentic card shop dipiction would require probably a year of programming to get one episode worth of material. Staged or not, I think this will be a good thing for the hobby. Maybe it will scare up some more hobby finds as people tune in and remember that they have their relatives collection in the attic. I'm sure it will also flood card shops with late 80s/early 90s junk cards as people try to cash out on their 'investments'.

Hopefully, they will show someone bringing in some junk wax and being told that it's almost worthless. That will save card shop owners around the nation some future annoyances.

Havent got to see it yet, but am hoping that they do throw in the occasional "collector" who brings in a box of 80's and 90's garbage that used to be worth something that is virtually worthless now. I could tape it, bring it to my store and play it for the infinite number of clowns who bring in boxes of 1992 Donruss thinking their worth $50 for an 800 count box even though I have a case of factory sets I bought for about $2 a set and am selling for $5 a set.
Just watched today's episode and I'm not that impressed. It's a carbon copy of Pawn Stars. Can't ABC come up with something original or, at least put a twist on it?
It was also pretty upsetting to see these guys sell that Killebrew bat for $6500 to the guy that said he could spend up to $5K.
