  • Not sure as to authenticity, but given that I imagine this is a lot you're looking to purchase. It might be worth it to throw a couple of the pics up on ebay with high BINs and do a psa/dna quick opinion.

+1 Certainly the Mantles, the Dean and the Ruth... I don't know enough about Wagner sigs to voice an opinion.

But if it's coming from the same seller, stay away.

  • I'm with IMF. All bad IMO. Ruth for sure bad.
  • I think the opposite on this one. I don't know enough on the Wagner but the other's look pretty good to me. The ink on the Ruth looks like it matches the person it's addressed to. Just like
any autographed items it's best to get checked out before you buy. If you are thinking of purchasing can you get your money back if auto's end up fakes?
To me they look good, but this is just my opinion. I'm already going against the odds here.

  • Actually after blowing up the Ruth the inks don't match 100 percent. But if the postal stamp is over the part of the Ruth signature then it just might be real. I don't think you would be able to tell looking at a scan though.

Hard to tell from pic. but easy to look at on my wall and say not right.

Good luck, hopefully its not bought first, ask later.Dont know anything about Wagner, but as already stated
if 99% are bad,you know the rest.

the other thing to think about is, what exactly would Babe Ruth be doing in Philadelphia during the peak of his career in Philadelphia on Christmas Eve? It's too easy for the bad guys to buy cancelled, old envleopes with no return address and do their "magic"

  • Id compare the other letters in the Ruth signature to who it's addressed to as well. The a's don't match.
Interested in any Favre stuff you have to offer. image

That's what I had said, it included a letter from the lady that had nothing to do with Ruth, the letter was signed and addressed to someone else. I asked him and he didn't want me to provide any more details... So I won't. But they won't be for sale online he is thinking about sending them in and I let him know I would post them.

Almost looks like Marino's handiwork - would look good over at Coach's Corner!

And why would Babe Ruth only write his name and not the rest of his address in the return address section. That and the letters are different from the ones to the addressee.
