Frank and Sons show today.

Every month my friend and I try to get out to Frank and Sons to pick up things we're looking for...but most often, things we're not looking for as well! I originally went to load up on some rookies that I've been wanting to grab but then...
I happened across this:

Talked with the guy for awhile and then went to buy some other stuff. Came back, and he said he'd sell all three trays for $80.00.
Was a little skeptical because he had wrapped them in what looked like saran wrap, but I had him remove the wrapping and to my surprise, he was just protecting the original cellophane which is pretty tight and in very nice condition with no tears that I can see:

He emphatically told me not to open them, and I told him I had no plans to. He also went on to say he had a full unopened case of 1980 Wax 3-Tray packs that he was not ready to part with. I told him that when he was to let me know! He then proceeded to tell me to buy all of the unopened wax that I could find, even boxes of 1987 Topps (lol) because wax was not being produced anymore for card packaging. Turned out to be a really cool guy; he gave us 6 packs of unopened 81 Donruss as well for no charge, very cool!
After picking up those, I turned around and figured I'd try my luck at a box. I chose the 2010 Topps Chrome, since I typically have good luck with pulling a Strasburg or two. Today no Strasburgs, but I did get these: (Sorry in advance for the photo flash glare)

The Starlin Castro Auto and the Mike Stanton Red /25 were nice pickups. The Greinke t206 Red is also a /25 card, and along with the other rookies from that box, I'm fairly happy with the result.
The next thing I picked up was a 83 Vending box, which netted all of the hofers that you'd want to get, but only the Gwynn was good enough to send in - no complaint here!
The only other thing that I did scope out was a 1954 Aaron 7 that I didn't have 2k to slap down at the time...who knows, maybe next time!
Anyhow, was a fun day at Frank and Sons for around 150.00.

That's a terrific price on those!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
It is in City of Industry, California. Every Saturday and Wednesday. Been going for 20+ years.

It's a pretty cool show. Many things are over priced, but you can find what you're looking for if you look hard enough.
They have signings all of the time as well. I'm not into basketball all that much, but what would people pay for a James Worthy auto? I believe he'll be there in April.
Matt Kemp will be there in April as well. Rick Flair will be making a showing next month.

<< <i>It's the same vendors ever week and they don't get new stuff in very often. When I was into buying modern wax it was the best place ever. You can always get the latest boxes for the best eBay price (and not pay for shipping). They have a guy that does subs to BGS there too. If they had a bulk PSA submitter there ever week I'd probably go more often. >>
Yeah, but you can buy swords on the other side of the hall.
