Idiot Ebayer opened case against me

So this idiot purchases over $250 worth of cards. Of course I send them with sig. confirmation/insurance within one day of being paid for. The buyer proceeds to not pick them up from the post office for the next 15 days. Now the package is being returned to me. I warned him at least 3 times that if he did not pick up the package it would be returned to me. Idiot buyer then proceeds to open cases against me for each card purchased. Rant over............There was literally nothing I could have done. Anyone have this happen to them????

  • That's a tough one. I do signature confirmation myself but mainly for low feedback buyers. I also take into account the area they live in if they insist on having it delivered w/o sig con. According to PP and eBay, only DC is required to prove delivery. I haven't run into mail being returned to me but I have had pissed off customers telling me I am stealing from them. That's until I tell them it's at the Post Office. Good luck!

    Wow!

My take? A way to weasel out of the deal due to "buyer regrets?"

$250 or higher, you have to have sig to cover your ass. DC not good enough

Zep is right. Over $250 and in this situation if you listen to someone like toro and just send with DC then you are now looking at cases being opened against you along with the buyer keeping the cards and claiming they never were received. Once PayPal requests proof of signature for purchase over $250 and all you can give is a tracking # they will tell you that you are SOL and refund the buyer.

Some really bad misinformation toro, I suggest you fix that before people get burned because you don't know what you are talking about.

BrendanB is right Toro. Your incorrect information could cost sellers in the future. Any package being sent over $250 MUST be sent signature confirmation. Because the total value of all cards combined was higher than $250, then he HAD to send the package with signature confirmation. The buyer refused to pick up the cards - I am sure PayPal is going to make you refund him, since you are obivously getting the cards back. Maybe you can at least get your shipping fee, since the buyer wouldn't pick up his package. I would also like to know the bidders ID so I can do a block as well.
