First wanted to say welcome. I and others on this board have collected a few of these rolls and singles and as the others would tell you, were all waiting for the CPG to add a certain numbers of these in there book. I like others believe someday these will get the Notice they deserve. I would say hang onto them. Here is a good thread about these.. Enjoy tom formative year thread.

  • A good comparison to those coins is the 1955 poor man's double die, not as the origin of the error but of the marketability of a minor coin with a catchy name. While they may be picked up here and there by a dealer and sold for a couple of bucks in managed promotion in coin world and what not (for pure profit for the dealer), it is unlikely that a two way market will develop for them where the buyer of the coins can hope to get another dealer to buy them off of them for anything other than a token offer. Considering you most likely paid (or should have) 50c for the roll there is no down side to holding on to it in the unlikely event that I am wrong.

Worth ~$45-50, maybe. I have a few of these for a couple different errors, they aren't hard to find in US Mint boxes.

who exactly is paying 45-50$ per roll? they look to go for a couple of bucks with free shipping on ebay
