list for value multipliers on t206?

Not really sure how to word my question, but I was wondering if there was a list anywhere that has the approximate difference in pricing between the common t206 backs and the more scarce ones. In particular, i have a Cobb with a polar back in PSA 4. Thanks for any help. I thought I saw something like this at one time.

Here is one site that has a formula for back multipliers:

    why don't you use VCP?
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • I checked out the T206 formula and found it interesting since at VCP we track the different backs for most not all. I am assuming you have a Cobb Red Portrait which is the most common of the 4 cards in the set not including the Cobb back of course.

T206 formula for a Polar bear back is:

    550 x 1.3 x 2

    total is $1430

    VCP Average is $1245.34

Now here is where it gets interesting is I checked on the Cobb with a common Pied/SC back and the value there is $1351.25

So basically added value for a PB back does not mean it increases in value for the most part. Polar Bear because it was a loose tobacco usually caused staining on the cards that does not look that appealing to most collectors so IMHO decrease the value of the card and besides it is not a rare back by any means and a very common one. Rare backs are Lenox, Drum, Boadleaf, Hindu, Carolina Brights, Uzit.

And now with some of those backs the selling price is off the chart so there is no way to use a formula to predict value anymore in regards to T206 backs, you need the hard sales to determine a approximate value.
