Nascar ticket stub collector, greetings!

I've collected Nascar ticket stubs for a while now and just wanted to stop in and say Hi to everyone.

This is my very first post on these great message boards. I saw some posts by melvin289, showing some of his items and it spurred me to create an account and show some of my stuff as well as share some fun and interesting stories.

As of this moment, my Nascar ticket stub collection has 1,305 different ticket stubs from 1949-present. Including everything else, the collection is 3,500+ pieces of memorabilia (tickets, programs, passes, credentials, brochures, misc paper items etc.).

My website, www.nascarticketstubs.com details other tickets that I'm searching for. It's a never ending quest!

Anyways, I look forward to talking with other collectors out there and can't wait to share some pics and stories from my collection.

- Andrew

  • Welcome to the Forum. It's good to know I have inspired someone. The ticket stubs I have posted are races I actually attended. In most cases I have the program to go with the tickets. A lot are a bit worse for the wear since we might have had a cold one or two while watching the races. I do not collect them but rather hold on to some of them. Some have been lost and misplaced down through the years. The postcard pictures of the drivers I post were given out by the drivers after the races sometimes. Back then you could go into the pits after the Factory Drivers had left the pits.

Welcome Andrew, I collect NASCAR Auto'd cards. I do Alot of races throughout the year and go HOT, so if you need a pass from any present day races, let me know.
  • Is anyone familiar with PSA's ticket grading? I have quite a few tickets that I would love to get graded/encapsulated. I would like to join at the Platinum level and get the 15 free submissions, but they won't grade tickets and since I don't collect cards the vouchers would be worthless to me. Do they ever have ticket grading specials during the year if you are a member?

Ron - My dad has attended races since he was in high school in 1966, and has saved pretty much everything including his tickets and programs. He got in on the collecting craze in the 1980's and has a ton of stuff (cards, sets, patches, you name it). I attended my first race when I was 9 years old. It was at North Wilkesboro in 1990 (Tyson Holly Farms 400) and I saw Mark Martin win his 4th career race with Dale Earnhardt finishing 2nd. I saved that ticket as well as all my others over the years.

Also, should I start a new thread with each update, picture and story, or can I just keep adding to this thread to keep it all together? I figure if anyone else comes across it years from now it would read out like a story.

    Andrew,

Welcome! Talk (Send a PM) to KingNASCAR (Logan) he has had a bunch of NASCAR tickets graded. They do run specials on tickets a few times each year.

I think you should start another thread. That's what I did with the 40 years of NASCAR cards.
