    Don't know these very well, but I'll say AU50. Looks like some luster remains and IIRC these are normally not well struck so the details aren't bad.

    this coin can go either way xf or au real hard call.

    I highly doubt it. From the pictures the coin would easily grade.

    Thanks for all of the replies. These really are pretty tough to grade. I've asked others and I usually get close to the same responses that you have given (XF40-AU55). Anyway here is what ANACS graded it:
