Bogus 52 Mantle Auction ??

Seller has ZERO feedback and card is up to 12K. I asked the seller two questions

(1) Could he send another photo (different) of the card
(2) I asked the seller if I could pick it up in person, or meet them at their bank, with a cashier's check.

How many people are actually scammed into buying these ? I am extra careful.

Rather than reply, they placed on their "do not allow person to bid" on item list. Looks like they do not have the card.
I have not checked the card against the images contained on VCP.

I'm always tempted to create a dummy EBAY account, from my wife's laptop, and bid to win these auctions so that it saves somebody.

I searched VCP, and the same serial # was sold about 2 years ago. Here is the image

Two different PSA slabs, different cards, same serial number. The cards, and the PSA labels are clearly different.
Somebody is going to buy a fake.

I've now seen this 3 times over the last month, multiple Mantle cards with the same serial, yet different PSA label formats,
and clearly different cards.

What is going on ?

If multiple people from this forum go to the link below and hit the "Report Item" button to report it as fraudulent,
maybe EBAY takes it down in time.

its good to know i have at least one thing to contribute to this forum,,, ok,, 1st download this program called screen shot,its free,, you will need a program that you can work the shot after you capture it, i use an old version of Printmaster,, but with todays computers you can use whats installed on it all ready,,,, see if this works for you, if you have a problem let me know,,,,j

Can't let people get away with this stuff.

Do you have a picture of the card from the auction from 2 years ago? Where was it sold? If you send to eBay the original auction link and show the discrepancy between the card, they sometimes will remove it.

So does it appear that not only was the card a counterfeit, but the flip was also a counterfeit? And wouldn't the case show sings of tampering? I've heard of cases being opened and the card being replaced, but this is the first time I've heard of the flip also being counterfeited. Is this becoming more common?

Yes, it's becoming more common. I encountered it twice this month. The same serial number on two different cards.
When you compare the PSA labels, the fonts and alignment are different. Search for "Jeremy Felenchak" in the forums
for the other scan attempt.
