Question about 1984 Donruss

I recently picked up a factory set and was going through it checking VCP. I see there are two of each Diamond King versions of each card in that subset. In many cases, one version has a substantially higher value than the other. I can't see any difference with the label or the card between the two versions. Can someone explain the difference to me? Thanks!

Never mind I just identified the difference. One version is "Steele" and the other is "Steel". Looks like it varies for which version is scarcer depending on the card.

Some of the Steele variations command big money. The Schmidt DK is notoriously found off-center, for example, and finding a MINT example is a chore and a half. Player collectors will pay big money for star, low pop Steele variations in PSA 10.

I think, also, that there is at least one card from the entire Master 1984 Donruss set never to pop a 10. A Matt Young Steele PSA 10 would go for over $1,000, if I had to estimate.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I was really shocked at some of the prices. Some have sold for $600! I do have the Steele version of the Matt Young but it's O/C unfortunately. I guess that's why there haven't been any 10s yet.
