A little OT: Guess Who's Filming a Segment for PAWN STARS?!?!?

Lil ol me! I have an old WWII aerial camera (with original film inside). Approx 15,000 of these cameras were made during WWII and most US bombers were equipped with 1 or 2 of them. The Pawn Stars people said they were very interested in filming me and my camera for one of their segments. So they will film my segment next week when I'm in Las Vegas for the PCGS and Las Vegas Palace Station shows. I'm very excited! Of course, there's no guarantee that they will air my segment, but hopefully it turns out entertaining enough!

Are you kidding! I could almost guarantee they'd air the segment since your personality is bubbly and you're really nice to look at!
Congrats Charmy!

is that for pawn or sale - well I have to call one of my buddies to see what they know about that.
I sent Pawn Stars an email with pictures of my camera and told them I would be in Vegas next week and was wondering if they would be interested in my camera. They called me yesterday to say they were "very interested" and would love to include it in their show, so we made an appointment to film the segment.

I already saw that! I think the guy is dreaming, but it's certainly a good starting point!

<< <i>I have no idea if there are any images on the film, it's never been developed (I understand it's quite costly to develop this type of film). >>
Based on one of your pics it looks like someone opened the camera and exposed the film so if there were any images they are no longer there. Congratulations and once you find out when it will be on TV let us know so we can all watch you necome a TV star.

Side note, I was the big guy that talked to you at FUN and said I don't post very often.

Do they know you are a coin dealer? Can you rub Rick's bald head for luck? Kind of as a secret sign for your coin nerd friends
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Perry, I bought the camera at a garage sale about 20 years ago, and had seen the camera being opened many times during the garage sale, and I'm sure it had been opened many times before that as well, so we never really had any expectations there would actually be viewable images on the film.

"So I saw that another camera like it was selling for almost $10,000, but this one is much nicer, so how about $20k?"

I bet if you act all crazy-like you will increase your chances of actually making an episode. Good luck and let us know!

<< <i>Very Very Cool! Cool item and cool that they are interested in your camera. Do a bunch of research before going and know what legit auction houses you could consign it to before going...and check results on eBay etc....all before going. Then you can help educate them AND know they will want to double their money soooooo I hope you DO NOT give it to them but it would be fun to be on the show.

Penny Lady has done her homework on this : ) Ive noticed Rick likes military items and often has something from that genre on the show. I was surprised to find Kodak still sells film for this camera,it's more than a collectable, its usable.

Good luck Charmy. I hope there's a nice buck in this for you.

I wonder if it was a camera like yours they were using Charmy?
And on a numismatic note, my grandson picked up a commem for his type set from that shop while passing through LV with the family.
He probably overpaid but he treasures it.

Yep, they'll be fawning ALL over you, as easy on the eyes as you are, Charmy, especially Chumlee!! And yes, with your smile, bubbliness, and personality, you'll make the cut! Little will they know you're a hard negotiator, unlike most of their customers. Casually mention you are a coin dealer, after you counter his offer and make him offer you more than he wants ('this is a great piece and would love to buy it, but I gotta get it for the right price'), and who knows, there might just be a new show coming to the History Channel!
This is going to have some great negotiation going on...thinking back about my last little "deal" with Charmy

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

She bought it 20 years ago at a garage sale so she may not even remember how much she paid but you can be sure she got it cheap.
