1971 Topps 12 card cello on eBay - funny picture

There's another of the infamous 12 card cello packs on eBay but this one has a funny picture. I think I would avoid the "seal it" if I were listing :-)
Item # 220958239181 (sorry, I have no linking ability - still pretty new.

Just learning the unopened game. Why are the infamous?

    Thanks.

    Because they were never made.

Scott- these are bogus "grocery cellos" that GAI (when Ryan Rutter was certifying) graded. They later admitted they shouldn't have graded them.
Much like the infamous Christmas Rack packs they are an arts and crafts project and were never produced by Topps, but rather by a 3rd party at a much later date.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I wonder if these are still being made or are just the leftovers that weren't sent to GAI back then for grading..

Tim if you look at sellers feedback as a buyer specifically nov 5/11 you can figure out where
    it came from.

Yep, that's the guy Jose. Good job searching the feedback. image

Can't believe people are still bidding on these things.
