No problem crypto, there are actually two ways to make coin rings (That i know of), the other is by hitting the edge of the coin repeatedly and evenly. This will cause the coin to flatten on the rim, then drill out the center and sand it down. This way will damage the edge though.

I've seen this done with silver coins, never gold. A bit cost prohibitive if you ask me.
