Suggestions for a decent Point and Shoot Camera

What's the best & most affordable P&S for coins. Let's try to keep it around $150. Any recommendations? Thank Y'all.

Canon A800, Targus 58" tripod at Walmar, a couple gooseneck lamps, and an 8GB memory card. Less than $150 for the lot.

here's what i use

with this screwed into the body around the lens to hold a 52 mm +3 diopter (close up filter)

and I get acceptable close-ups of coins:

Dental photography....makes sense !
I'm on a similar quest as the OP, and I'm finding that my 8 year old nikon has better close up abilities than the new ones do
Since many of the display cameras at my local (big box) will not function, I've decided to buy, take home and try out, then return if unacceptable....
BUT, just so you all know, this is NOT a habit I generally apply to coin deals ! I rarely return coins, even when perhaps I should !
