Ohhh, now you've gone and hurt my feelings. She is not petty. She is lovable though. And she is less troublesome than my Puerto Rican buddy Alfonso XIII , who I kicked to curb in favor of Miss Liberty since he was just a young punk at 117.

Do you think buxom is a compliment? I thought it was until I used it to describe a girlfriend I once had....yep, she's past tense now. --Jerry

I was hoping that Stone, or Realone would be around to pump me up a bit. Guess not. image For the guesses already made...imageimage The weak strike in the periphery is a known characteristic of the '07 dimes.

Looks like a Fine 12 to me. Im not a fan of the uneven strike though.

Moldnut, thanks for posting your coin. There are a few subtle differences between our examples. I'm not going to try to convince anyone here beyond a shadow of doubt as to the real grade of my coin as I see it. I saw it raw (2X2 labeled Fine) last fall, and offered to buy it on the condition that it make no less than VG10 in our hosts holder. So when it was offered to me in the current holder at Fine value, I couldn't just wave it off. I suspect that many others could not either. image

As you know this issue suffers from worn, bulging dies that were also heavily clashed thus making it very difficult to put an accurate grade as I've mentioned earlier.

The feature of my coin that got my undivided attention immediately is the fact that the obverse high points (design relief) on the portrait of Liberty still have an entirely natural color to them, with only an ever so faint appearance of the beginning of that pasty white look of "circulated cameo" that some enjoy, others not so. Pay particular attention to the forehead, chin and drapery near the right shoulder. This is the key in distinguishing the difference between my coin and Moldnut's coin. The obverse is typically weighted more heavily on this issue in the grading process, thus my comments. In addition, notice that on reverse of my coin, the eagle's right wing tip (viewing left) is fully outlined yet, despite being at the upper portion of the weakly struck periphery on both sides. Subtle details like this on this issue make a huge difference in grade.

Nice coin, wanted to say "fine" based on the central details, but it's tough with the left obv stars and UNITED so weak, so my first impresion was VG10

I've considered this one as Fine, with an above average strike for the date
