LINSANITY meets BLACK MAMBA

Just wanted to share a story from the shop today:
One of my customers came in to pick up a box of 2010-11 Gold Standard Basketball he had ordered. He did OK with that, the best card was a Tommy Heinsohn Auto/Patch /25. He looked around after he opened the box and asked what I had that had Jeremy Lin. All I had left was some Season Update and 1 box of Classics. He said, "If I got the Lin, would you be interested?" I told him I would sell it for him if he happened to get it, so he decided to go for the Classics.
First he got the two relics, which were Jameer Nelson and Robert Parish. Then, he got a Kobe Bryant on-card autograph /99, and he was absolutely thrilled. The second autograph was in the last pack, and, sure enough, it was Jeremy Lin! Of course with Panini, the Lin card had a slight ding on one corner when it came out of the pack, but it was still Lin. Below are pictures of the customer and the two cards; he is keeping the Kobe, and I am selling the Lin for him on eBay. I am going to do a little write-up and try to get it printed in Beckett.

Your shop seems so well organized when you post pictures.
If you get time could you post some more of it.
CONGRATS to your customer! Post the eBay LINK here when you put it up.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Mike ... Do I have any chance in pulling a "LIN" from the '77 Football wax packs I just bought from you? LOL

I actually just sold it for the full asking price ($274.95).
Of course, the buyer has a 2, so I have to hope the payment goes through.

... you don't want to see behind the counter or the back room...
If you go to my Facebook page (link in the signature line) there is an album of pictures of the "showroom."
What did the box cost your customer? What is the Kobe worth?
(Wondering if Steve Novak is the next Knick card to go up in value. He shot lights out today ... maybe he will benefit from Lin's assists? MAN he can shoot the three!)

<< <i>That was quick! I guess the one that sold prior did not have a "ding", or at least the seller was not as honest as you were.

The box was $125, the Kobe books $100-$200, plus the Lin = great box.
