Thanks for posting the photos, guys. I already learned something, I didn't know PSA graded the autos on photos. I knew they authenticated but didn't know they would assign a grade. Cool Mantle psychump. I hope more people post to this thread, I'm going to slowly purchase a few of my favorite players and will post to this thread when I get them.

I've got a nice run of Devils team signed jerseys and emblem photos. Sadly, my favorite is at the office and unavailable for a pic at the moment (a 16x20 2000 Stanley Cup Game 1 full ice photo taken during the National Anthem from above the goal judge's box and signed by all of the starters on both teams except Eddie Belfour - who has refused to sign it twice).

Here's a signed emblem photo of the 2002-2003 Devils (sans Brodeur):

Thanks for the compliment Darin. I believe the end of the "M" and the beginning of the "A" in Mantle is why it didn't get a 10. Darn marker!

Don Larson visted Mill Creek Sports last year and I dug through some old SPORT magazines and found one from the beginning of the '57 season with a article about Don's perfect game. Better yet there was this full page color picture of him that I had signed. He wanted to sign his signature on the other side of the photo on the article part and I said no, please right on the picture and he did. SPORT magazine has some excellent full page color pictures in them. Doug

I have a handful of 8x10's I had auto'd a while ago. I started to collect them but I stopped when autograph prices started to skyrocket. Here is my Joe D. auto. I got this picture signed back in early 1990's.

When I was a kid my aunt met Mantle in a casino and got his autograph. Before she gave this to me and my brothers she wrote Boys above the signature, I proceeded to try to erase the hell out of it.

  • Not a photo, but a neat item. The quick version of the sotry of it is. My wife was pregnant and we picked Mattingly as the name for our daughter, my mother emailed his offices and asked if he would send my wife and I a note or something to that effect. He sent her this card, (greeting card) and she had it framed and gave it to us when I showed up to pick up my wife at the end of her baby shower. The letter was written in the winter/spring of 2008, and the pic that is with it was taken in June 2009 when she was 10 months old.
